The Samaritan Woman, What can we learn from her?

Image
Felt lead to put this to paper, I get reminded of the Samaritan woman encountering Jesus often. We can easily put ourselves in the shoes of the Samaritan lady. In John 4: 1-26 - Scripture Verses: . 6  Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. 7  When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8  (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9  The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. [ a ] ) 10  Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” 11  “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it h

BS: Bible Study Proverbs Chapter 1

Bible studies is a fantastic way to grow deeper in your relationship with God. An inductive bible study( studying directly from the Bible) is the way I will be blogging. Try following by reading in your own bible first and re- reading the chapter again.( Observation), then Interpreting the text and Application( applying to your own life what you learnt) We will do it step by step, and it wont seem so overwhelming: So I felt led to start with Proverbs, the author was King Solomon, he wrote thousands of Proverbs. Proverbs means in Hebrew, being compared or parallel, and in Greek , being similar or like. So lets read Chapter 1: Proverbs Chapter 1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: 2   for gaining wisdom and instruction;      for understanding words of insight; 3  for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,      doing what is right and just and fair; 4  for giving prudence to those who are simple, [ a ]      knowledge and discretion to the y

Scriptures for Single women

Image
Yip, I'm single as I have mentioned in the blog. It's not easy at times being single and waiting for your future husband. I have to TRUST God's plan for my life. I always have this hope in my heart for my future husband and meditate and pray on the below scriptures when I can: This is NOT the only scriptures you can meditate and pray on, Personally I find these scripture relate best to my single status. Psalm127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labour in vain. This is my favourite verse, I commited this to memory, as God is part of the relationship too, no marriage can succeed without GOD in the centre. Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. This is so true. Guard your heart don't let just any random guy enter and leave you broken hearted. If you ask God to , he can keep your heart safe until the right man comes along. Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor

The Princesses

In my quiet time with the Lord Yesterday, I came across the verses below, and I had marked them as verses I would like to go deeper into:  As you read each verse below take the time to meditate and apply to yourself: These are breathtaking verses. Psalm 45:9-15 9  Daughters of kings are among your honored women ;      at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir. 10 Listen, daughter,  and pay careful attention:       Forget your people  and your father’s house. 11  Let the king be enthralled by your beauty ;       honor him, for he is your lord. 12  The city of Tyre will come with a gift, [ d ]      people of wealth will seek your favor. 13  All glorious is the princess within her chamber;      her gown is interwoven with gold. 14  In embroidered garments she is led to the king;      her virgin companions follow her—      those brought to be with her. 15   Led in with joy and gladness,       they enter the p

2015 A new year..what does it hold for you?

It is the start of a New Year! Phew, can you believe it? Back to work... and soon back to school, we go back to the normal day of getting up-eat-go to work/school-home-sleep and all over again the next day. So what do you have to look forward to then in 2015? Going to open the newspaper to the horoscopes to check out what your star sign says? Well I wouldn't encourage it as I personally know that my Lord, God has an amazing year planned for me and for you too. Scripture Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart      and lean not on your own understanding; 6  in all your ways submit to him,      and he will make your paths straight  Amen!! God really has the most beautiful path laid out for his children so before looking to anyone/anything, say a prayer to your Heavenly Father thanking him for 2014 and trusting him with 2015!

My spiritual walk - Lost and mistakes made

In my twenties it is the time to experiment, have a lot of boyfriends and enjoy your life. I also opened the door to bad things, things which should never have entered my life. The scripture that comes to mind , Proverbs 5:6 - "She gives no thought to the way of life;      her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it." This was so true for me and where I was heading.... My story is to encourage others heading in that direction or none the wiser that God can come and rescue us in our time of need. My story goes like this: I met and made friends with quite a few guys online, they stayed a distance from me. Intentionally I made friends with them in the hope that when I visited the place they live in, I might go on dates with them. Well I did go on holiday and arranged a date with a guy. We were going to meet at a casino. Well when that evening came I could not go with my friends( Luckily I wasn't going alone). So I cancelled. At midnight I
